Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Asan Kasingye is facing criticism after his response to a tweet by Martha Kay was perceived as a troll. The controversy erupted when Kasingye, an active user of the social media platform X, reacted to a post by Martha Kay, who had previously experienced privacy issues due to leaked photos.

Martha Kay had tweeted, “Confidence is sooo attractive. Whenever you send a message and delete it, you lose confidence points. Stop!😒” Kasingye’s response, “Even when you post your nudes accidentally? Be serious,” was widely condemned as inappropriate and insensitive.

The response sparked a wave of backlash from users who criticized Kasingye for his comment. In light of the criticism, Kasingye deleted the tweet and announced a temporary break from social media.

In a follow-up tweet, Kasingye clarified, “My post in response to @MarthaKayug was meant as innocent banter. It was not intended to insinuate anything. Having realized the impact, I deleted it and will not post on this platform for a month, effective tonight, August 7th. I apologize for the inconvenience caused.”
