Singer A Pass has fired back at fellow artist and president of the Musicians’ Federation, Eddy Kenzo, accusing him of being a government propagandist and lacking authenticity. In an interview on Sanyuka Television, A Pass said Kenzo had become “animated” and detached from reality.
Recently, Eddy Kenzo, while speaking to a blogger, mentioned that he had severed his friendship with Bobi Wine and would not support protestors. He also criticized singer Azawi for being young and naive and asserted that anyone wanting to boycott his music could proceed, as he would not be intimidated.
A composed A Pass responded, “Eddy Kenzo speaks for the selected few who are the oppressors. Think about it. Based on what he’s saying, that the protestors want to destroy people’s property, you don’t know, so what is your basis? Everything we talk about is real. Eddy Kenzo is animated; he’s in a movie. How do you talk about things you haven’t seen?”
He continued, “The government brought army trucks and APCs the day before, soldiers and policemen were patrolling the entire city, they arrested everyone who tried to march. It means they have the manpower to lead the protestors peacefully to parliament and they speak whatever they want and nothing would have happened.”
When asked about his remarks regarding the president of the federation, A Pass clarified, “I’m not part of the federation, and Eddy Kenzo is speaking for the government and spreading propaganda. Talking about forecasting hell and doom, when did these things ever happen? That’s just baseless talk.”
