Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has expressed heartfelt thanks to his wife, friends, and supporters after graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree from Cavendish University. The Leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP) marked the milestone in an emotional message, reflecting on a journey that began in 2016 at the International University of East Africa (IUEA).

Bobi Wine, who had previously earned a diploma in Music, Dance, and Drama from Makerere University, highlighted the crucial role his wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, played in his academic success. He credited her for providing unwavering encouragement, even during moments when he considered giving up.

The opposition leader also extended his gratitude to close friends and political allies, including NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi, Don Sheriff, and David Rubongoya, who supported him throughout his studies. Rubongoya, who taught Bobi Wine his first Constitutional Law lecture, advised him to transfer from IUEA to Cavendish University, a decision that Bobi Wine described as pivotal.

Bobi Wine shared the challenges he faced, including being required to retake a course unit, which delayed his graduation by a year. Despite efforts by detractors to block his graduation, including a petition to the National Council for Higher Education, he was ultimately cleared to graduate.

In his message, Bobi Wine expressed pride in overcoming the hurdles and dedicated his achievement to those who believed in him. He also paid tribute to his late mother and thanked God for guiding him through the challenges.

Concluding his message, Bobi Wine encouraged Ugandans to pursue their dreams, no matter the obstacles, and expressed hope that his journey would inspire others to achieve their goals.
