In a fiery exchange of words, Bobi Wine has responded to Mathias Mpuuga by stating that drug and alcohol users helped shape his current status.
During a recent burial in Mityana, Mpuuga claimed that drunkards and marijuana users are incapable of ousting President Museveni. This statement was widely interpreted as a direct jab at Bobi Wine and his National Unity Platform (NUP) group.
Bobi Wine, who has publicly acknowledged his past use of marijuana during his music career, has emphasized that he has not touched an alcoholic drink in ten years. Speaking to the media at the NUP offices, Bobi Wine remarked, “The group of drunkards and drug users didn’t call him [Mpuuga]; he joined them. They made him Leader of the Opposition and Commissioner. Now that they call him out for his involvement in the 500 million shillings scandal, he’s calling them names.”
The tension between Bobi Wine and Mpuuga has been escalating since the 500 million shillings service award scandal became public, further straining their relationship.
