Singer and president of musicians under the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) Cindy Sanyu has lamented about the money government released to artistes.
She said those under her association haven’t seen anything but she knows everyone in the federation is apparently rich.
The federation is led by Eddy Kenzo and he has been trying everything to loot for the artistes. She has tried different stake holders in government and in business to help artiste.
He even met the president of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to ask for money to help artistes and also pass the copyright law.
Last week Eddy Kenzo confirmed that he had actually received money from government. He didn’t reveal the actual amount of the money.
He only said that the money was asked with the purpose and it is going to do exactly what it was meant to do.
However Cindy is not happy about the money. She said that she knows some artistes are greedy and they will first get money for themselves and others later.
She said she knows most of them are already rich and they don’t care about other artistes and weather they will get the money or not.
“I know everyone in the federation is already rich. Government already released the money but we don’t even know where it is and how it will benefit us as artistes,” Cindy Sanyu said
