Singers Daudi Mugema and Haruna Mubiru have put aside their differences and rekindled their friendship, reminiscent of their bond from years past.
The reconciliation comes after Mugema poured his heart out to the camera, revealing his struggles with cancer and the subsequent financial burden it brought. With his legs swollen and one bearing painful wounds, Mugema reached out to the public for assistance, hoping for support during his challenging time.
While many musicians rallied to his aid, some notable figures were conspicuously absent, leaving Mugema feeling abandoned by those he considered friends. Among them was Haruna Mubiru, with whom Mugema shared a history of mutual assistance.
Recalling their past relationship, Mugema spoke fondly of the support he received from Mubiru during their time working together. He also mentioned Mary Bata, another fellow musician who had helped him significantly in his career but had not extended a helping hand in his time of need.
Moved by Mugema’s plight, Mubiru responded to the plea for assistance after watching the emotional interview. He reached out to Mugema, offering financial support amounting to UGX 500k for his treatment and providing essential food supplies.
While Mugema continues his efforts to raise funds for specialized treatment in Turkey, the reunion between Mugema and Mubiru serves as a beacon of hope in the face of adversity, demonstrating the power of compassion and forgiveness within the music industry.
