Recent reports have surfaced revealing that Nigerian music sensation Davido was paid a staggering $400,000 (approximately 1.6 billion Ugandan shillings) for his performance at a show in Kampala. The disclosure came from radio personality Kasuku during a radio appearance.

According to Kasuku, Davido’s earnings soared even higher when he traveled to Kenya, where he reportedly received $600,000 for another performance, bringing his weekend earnings from East African countries to a grand total of $1 million.

In contrast, Kasuku highlighted that Burna Boy demanded $1 million for a performance in Kampala, posing a challenge for promoters to cover such high costs.

These figures show a significant disparity when compared to the earnings of Ugandan artists.

For instance, veteran artist Jose Chameleon, who recently announced his “Legend” show at the Serena Victoria Hall, plans to charge $100 per ticket. This pricing strategy is estimated to generate between $100,000 to $150,000 in revenue on the night of the event.
