Gravity Omutujju has announced an increase in ticket prices for his upcoming concert, scheduled for September 7, 2024, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval. The popular artist explained the reasons behind the price hike, noting the previous standard charges have been adjusted to reflect the current demand and value.
Previously, concert-goers could purchase tickets for UGX 10,000 (ordinary) and UGX 30,000 (VIP). However, for the “Embaga Ya Isma N’Amina” concert, the new pricing has seen ordinary tickets rise to UGX 20,000 and VIP tickets to UGX 50,000.
Gravity Omutujju likened the adjustment of concert prices to the fluctuating prices of everyday commodities, such as tomatoes. He emphasized that concert prices, like those of other goods, are subject to change based on demand and value.
“Even tomato prices can be adjusted. What about the concerts? People even told me I delayed in increasing – they wanted me to charge UGX 30,000, but I said no,” Gravity explained.
When asked about the possibility of hosting future concerts at the Serena Hotel, Gravity dismissed the idea, stating that the venue would be too small to accommodate his large fanbase.
