Legendary singer Iryn Namubiru has addressed recent rumors suggesting her extensive charity work in her hometown of Mityana is a stepping stone towards a political career. Namubiru made it clear that her efforts are driven solely by a genuine desire to help, not by political ambition.

Namubiru specifically responded to speculation about her possibly replacing area woman MP Hon. Joyce Bagala. She emphasized that her charity work, which started in 1998, is not politically motivated.

“If I wanted to enter politics, I would have done so long ago. My involvement in charity comes from a sincere love for helping children,” Namubiru stated.

Her commitment is further evidenced through her NGO, Gather for Children, founded in 2006. This organization, along with other partners, funds various initiatives supporting women and children in Mityana.

“I love kids naturally and helping them is part of my DNA,” Namubiru shared.

In addition to her charitable endeavors, Namubiru is also preparing for her upcoming #TimelessExperience concert, scheduled for July 26th at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
