Singer Lilian Mbabazi has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding alleged rent arrears amounting to UGX 16 million, dismissing them as baseless rumors.

Addressing the speculation surrounding her financial status, Mbabazi categorically denied any outstanding rent obligations, asserting that the reports circulating on various media platforms are unfounded.

The renowned singer rose to prominence during her tenure with the music group Blu3, showcasing her undeniable talent and captivating audiences.

However, following the group’s disbandment, Mbabazi encountered challenges in maintaining her foothold in the music industry, compounded by the responsibilities of single motherhood after the passing of her partner, Mozey Radio.

As a single mother, Mbabazi faces numerous financial challenges, grappling with substantial expenses while striving to provide for her three children independently. Despite her efforts, her income may not align with public perceptions, exacerbating her financial strain.

Last year, Mbabazi encountered a setback when one of her landlords issued an eviction notice, citing unpaid rent dating back to 2019.

Allegations surfaced that Mbabazi had neglected rent payments and repeatedly evaded inquiries about settling her arrears, prompting the landlord to pursue legal action.

However, Mbabazi maintains that the claims of rent debt are unfounded, refuting suggestions of financial mismanagement and asserting her commitment to fulfilling her financial obligations.

The situation escalated when a purported document demanding payment of the outstanding rent circulated on social media, garnering widespread attention and fueling speculation about Mbabazi’s financial woes.

In response, a social media user known as Jalia Walda expressed her willingness to assist Mbabazi, citing her admiration for the singer’s resilience as a single mother.

However, after contacting Mbabazi directly, Jalia revealed that Mbabazi denied having any outstanding debts, attributing the circulating rumors to misinformation and malicious intent.

“I am here to let people know that I got in touch with Lilian Mbabazi, and she denied having any debts. I was willing to help in whatever way, but she said social media is full of lies, and she is very okay with her finances,” Jalia Walda stated, urging caution against spreading unfounded rumors that tarnish Mbabazi’s reputation.
