In a recent discussion on X Space, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga addressed criticisms and controversial statements made by his friend and political ally, Hon. Abed Bwanika, towards the National Unity Platform (NUP) leadership.
Bwanika has made headlines for his inflammatory comments, calling NUP leaders homosexuals and alleging they wear diapers under their trademark overalls during mobilization tours.
When questioned about his silence on Bwanika’s remarks, Mpuuga defended his friend, stating, “Bwanika is a right-thinking member of society and even more senior to me. There is no way I can restrain him; he should be held accountable as an individual.”
Mpuuga expressed surprise that the NUP leadership had not addressed the issue directly with Bwanika. “I wonder why the NUP leadership hasn’t called him to order and invited him to a disciplinary committee to sort the matter,” he said.
