Patience Rwabwogo, a pastor and daughter of President Yoweri Museveni, recently shared a personal story of financial hardship and faith with her congregation. Speaking during a sermon, Patience recounted how her family nearly lost their home in Buziga due to a struggling business and mounting mortgage debt.
Patience described a challenging period when the Rwabwogo family faced severe financial difficulties. They had recently purchased their home, having made a down payment and taken out a mortgage for the remainder. However, issues with their business led to missed payments, and the accumulating interest on their mortgage threatened their home. The bank issued a notice threatening to foreclose if the debt was not cleared within seven days.
In her emotional testimony, Patience explained the fear they experienced and how their trust in God played a crucial role in overcoming their difficulties. “By the grace of God, we managed to pay the arrears and, by our seventh year, we had paid off the entire mortgage, which was originally set for 25 years,” she said. “I share this story to encourage you to trust in God, as fear almost prevented our breakthrough.”
The video of her sermon has sparked considerable discussion on social media, with many reflecting on the struggles faced by the President’s daughter and contemplating the challenges faced by ordinary citizens.
