UPRS (Uganda Performing Rights Society) was previously a national body that every musician was entitled to register to ease the collection of loyalties from his or her creative works, this was previously headed by Wasulu that everyone was pointing at for the delayed or no pay at all for the royalties.
This body was responsible for overseeing payments from individuals that were earning from using others creatives and these included music libraries, bars, hotels, restaurants, televisons among others.
After Eddy kenzo releasing the challenge in their system, he came up with the Uganda national Musicians Federation that oversees the works of all bodied that are participating in the music and creative industry and these included UPRS.
After several meetings with the UPRS board members, today they have released some fund that they have collected for every musicians for the past 15years and these looks to be weird to many, as they complain
