A peasant parent from Uganda’s Entebbe road area shelled out a whopping 3 million shillings to ensure their son arrived at his high school prom in style.
The jaw-dropping entrance involved hiring a helicopter for the lucky finalist, granting him a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Elite High School.
Confirmation of the eye-watering helicopter hire fee came from aviation expert Faridah Ashaba, who disclosed the details this afternoon.
The event gained widespread attention after receiving coverage from NTV, sparking a heated debate over the lengths parents should go to in order to fulfill their children’s wishes.
MC OMOLLO, in a social media post, identified the parents behind the extravagant gesture, stating, “The parent and family of the boy that arrived in a helicopter at Elite High School attended the prom. The father, a peasant farmer, hired the helicopter for his son to celebrate his last year in high school in style.”
Adding fuel to the discussion, Capt. Ashabe took to Twitter, revealing, “To save you energy, the helicopter ride cost approximately 3 million shillings for a drop-off at Elite School. It must have been about 20-30 minutes to get there.”
The incident has not only captured the attention of the social media but has also sparked reflection on the lengths parents are willing to go to ensure their children’s happiness, raising questions about societal values and the growing trend of extravagant gestures in celebrations.
