Media personality Sheilah Gashumba gives artistes managers advise on how to have successful artistes in their own business.
She said so many musicians are let down by their managers because they don’t get training in order to speak to the public which adds so much to their careers.
Sheilah Gashumba is a talent manager herself. She was managing ex boyfriend Rickman Manrick but his career didn’t go anywhere for the time they were together and him being under her management.
According to the media personality, artistes usually go to the media and most of them don’t know how to answer any questions.
She said that managers need to know that whatever an artiste says may build them or even put them down and it is very dangerous.
To avoid all that, Sheilah said the media needs to know the artistes to host and artistes also need to know what to say.
“Artist managers should give their artists media training!! Not everything they ask your artist should be answered!! Some of you look very dumb answering some questions!! Ugandan artists give more media interviews than delivering global/national hits for us. Every small thing, interview!! Ah banage!! Tv and radio presenters hosting every talking thing these days!! Must be a sad error of watching Ugandan tv and supporting Ugandan music! When one artist takes us one step ahead, the tv and radios take us 100 steps behind!,”
