Mpaka Records boss and singer Ykee Benda has warned Ugandan musicians against performing in Saudi Arabi.
He said they should learn that the promoters in those areas are so jealousy of each other and they are always leading artistes into problems.
He made this statement following the arrest of upcoming artiste Fik Gazaa who went to perform their for the first time and was immediately arrested.
Different artistes have been going to Arab Emirates countries to perform and make some money. But it hasn’t been easy ever since Bernie Gunter was arrested.
He spent there some weeks and most of the people were accusing him of being the one in wrong by involving himself in a fight that he wasn’t supposed to be in.
According to Ykee Benda, artistes are usually black mailed when going to Saudi Arabia. They are assured of security but when they get their there is nothing like security.
He said that is what happened to him, some of the promoters tried to call police on him but he was bright enough to leave before the police arrived.
Ykee Benda told artistes to he vigilant and not go to Saudi Arabia to perform no matter how poor they are.
“I want to ask Ugandan artistes to stop going to perform in Saudi Arabia. Promoters their are very jealousy and stupid,” Ykee Benda said
