Singer Veronica Nalugya also known as Vinka has shocked Ugandans revealing that She actually doesn’t own her own music.
She said the the music she records belongs to her management Swangz Avenue and she doesn’t own any rights to it.
In Uganda there is a few records labels and Swangz Avenue is the most known and successful one. They have talented musicians that live a better life.
But those artistes that include Winnie Nwagi, Vinka, Azawi, Zafaran and Elijah Kitaka never talk to the public about the contracts they signed and conditions of them.
The one musician Irene Ntale that decided to leave Swangz Avenue was denied access to all her social media platforms and all her music with the YouTube channel.
According to Vinka, that is the same case. She signed a contract and have all her music rights to her music label.
She said so far she doesn’t have any music to herself but she she is hopeful that she will regain the rights by the time she is leaving the record label.
“I don’t own any music I sing it is all under Swangz Avenue. I think I will get rights to my music towards my departure and is when I will be making money from it,”
