Ugandan musician GNL Zamba and his wife, Miriam Tamar, recently opened up about how their love story began the very first day they met in a bar.
Their journey dates back to 2012, during a time when Tamar was working at Fenon and pursuing her solo music career. Their paths crossed on a night when GNL Zamba had just concluded a successful music tour in Northern Uganda.
“We were at the back of one of the popular bars in Kololo, hiding away from people,” GNL Zamba recalled. “She joined the group where we were, and the conversation began. All I could see was this very beautiful woman telling very good stories. We told stories for the entire night, and my friends left us alone in the bar. We enjoyed each other’s conversation and company.”
The connection between them was instant. “It was love at first sight, so I can’t say it started as a friendship,” GNL Zamba said. “It was love, connection, and friendship all at once.”
Despite their immediate bond, both continued to pursue their solo careers for many years before fully committing to their relationship. Their story is a testament to the power of instant connections and the journey of balancing personal aspirations with a shared love.
