As a prominent content creator herself, Sheilah Gashumba has voiced concerns over the lack of real-time content sharing by photographers and videographers during events.

Gashumba highlighted the pivotal role photographers and videographers play in content creation, particularly in promoting nightlife and events. However, she emphasized the need for them to improve the pace at which they share their content during live events to assist hosts and promoters in attracting more attendees.

“Photographers, videographers, content creators—listen up! You have a significant impact on boosting nightlife,” Gashumba remarked. “Why capture a hundred videos and only end up with one 59-second clip? You should be sharing or airdropping content in real time so hosts and promoters can keep the buzz alive.”

In addition to urging faster content sharing, Gashumba advised Ugandan content creators to diversify their content strategies by breaking down their footage into multiple videos. This approach, she believes, can help them attract more followers and expand their clientele base.

“It’s about maximizing your impact,” she explained. “You should be capturing the crowd’s energy, interactions with DJs and MCs, and the overall vibe of the event. That’s how you become an integral part of the night.”

Gashumba also pointed out the influence of West African content creators who actively engage and attract audiences by consistently posting dynamic event content. She encouraged local photographers and videographers to adopt similar practices to enhance their visibility and reach.
